Overview of the process

The website is set up to take you through a detailed description of all the components of PASS. Here is a basic outline of the process:

  • Label your test questions.
  • Set up your PASS Excel grid.
  • Administer test to students.
  • Enter student marks into the PASS Excel grid.
  • Identify your "at risk" students according to their test mark and invite them to PASS.
  • Gather and analyze the assessment data (Performance Assessment).
  • Begin to build an individualized Action Plan for each student (Strategies for Success).
  • Meet each student.
  • With the student's input, finalize the Action Plan.
  • Gather feedback on the process from students.

To help you understand the process, we have included two examples:

  • Student Mina
  • Student William

We have changed their names, but they are real students who benefited from PASS, graduated, and have gone on to successful careers in nursing. They are presented differently, to appeal to the different learning styles of our readers.

Student Mina appears in segments throughout the website, as we have used her as an example to illustrate the various steps of the process. Student William is presented as a complete document so that you can see the flow of the process over one semester. You can find Student William through the Tools tab, and we link to him at various stages of the process.
